Modern apprenticeship funding

Modern apprenticeship funding

Modern apprenticeships combine gaining a qualification with on-the-job experience. People can work, learn and earn at the same time.

You can be an apprentice:

  • at any age
  • if you have completed higher education such as a degree, as long as you haven't gained a qualification above what you're going to study in the apprenticeship.

You will not pay towards your qualification.

The main website to apply for apprenticeships is www.apprenticeships.scot but they are also advertised on other job sites.

Skills Development Scotland administers funding to Modern Apprenticeship Centres.

There are opportunities for employers to develop their existing workforce with social service apprenticeships. Visit the Skills Development Scotland website for:

  • general information about apprenticeships and the
  • apprenticeship levy.
